Sophie developed a passion for the subject upon learning about her professor’s experiences with her adopted child whom had benefited from cochlear implants. Having been a vocalist and musician her whole life, Sophie enjoyed making connections between playing open mic nights and hearing science. Having lived overseas in Belgium for half her life, she also enjoyed learning about phonetics among different dialects and languages.
She began her training and education in the undergraduate program at Western Washington University where she had a taste of what it could be like to change patient’s lives with better hearing care solutions and new technology. Upon finishing her clinical shadowing she graduated and joined Puget Sound Hearing Aid & Audiology’s dedicated team.
Since then she has learned a tremendous amount and gained hands-on experience working under Dr. William Blunk and attending company trainings. Within these trainings, Sophie has learned about the importance and improvement in hearing technology in numerous listening environments, how to create a safer, better patient experience, and providing excellent patient care.
